About me
Hello! My name is Gisele Tah, and I'm deeply immersed in the field of public health advocacy, with a particular focus on Thirdhand smoke exposure and its far-reaching impacts on health.
With a solid foundation in research and a commitment to driving social change, I’ve navigated through various roles, each contributing to my multifaceted approach to health promotion.
My journey began with rigorous academic inquiry, culminating in a qualitative interpretive descriptive study that delved into the intricate tapestry of knowledge, attitudes, practices, and beliefs surrounding Thirdhand smoke. This work, housed on ProQuest and garnering significant attention, serves as a testament to my dedication to understanding and addressing complex health issues.
Transitioning from academia to practical implementation, I spent four years as a Health and Safety officer, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and fostering secure environments for both patients and staff. Through innovative health promotion initiatives in a Mental Health Clinic, I underscored the importance of holistic well-being for all stakeholders.
As a program coordinator, I led a dynamic team in orchestrating impactful public health outreaches, particularly focusing on cervical cancer and tobacco use prevention in Baltimore, Maryland. Through these endeavors, we engaged with over 100 community members, providing education and resources to combat these prevalent health challenges.
In parallel, my role as a program strategist and content creator for prominent brands allowed me to leverage narrative storytelling to effect positive change. Mentoring young individuals from diverse backgrounds, crafting compelling health messages, and advocating for causes close to my heart, such as the Dravet Syndrome foundation, have been integral to my mission.
Beyond professional endeavors, my passion for family led me to pursue two courses on Christian Marriage Counselling and Spiritual coaching, graduating to help struggling marriages. Grounded in faith and fueled by a deep love for my family and community, I find joy and fulfillment in serving others, both within my home church and on virtual stages worldwide.
Furthermore, my dedication to family extends to my marriage of 20 years to my best friend, Kennedy Tah, who is not only my biggest blessing but also my greatest cheerleader. Together, we share a profound love for Jesus, which fuels our passion for serving our community and beyond. In recognition of my contributions, I’ve been honored with a Category 4 Public Health Award for Impact, a testament to the tangible difference I strive to make in the lives of others. With unwavering passion and a steadfast commitment to serving humanity, I look forward to continuing my journey of advocacy, empowerment, and positive change.
